Dr. Jessica Day

Chiropractor & Owner of
Blue Haven Wellness​

Dr. Jessica Day is a dedicated chiropractor and the owner of Blue Haven Wellness, where she focuses on personalized, preventative care for families, women, and children. With a special interest in pediatrics, pregnancy, and nervous system health, Dr. Day takes a thoughtful and holistic approach to care, helping her patients address the root cause of their concerns and reach their health goals.

​

In addition to her family practice, Dr. Day has extensive experience working with individuals recovering from brain injuries due to car accidents, as well as supporting children with autism. This background has shaped her deep understanding of the nervous system and her gentle, individualized approach to care.

​

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, a Doctorate in Chiropractic, and a Master’s in Applied Clinical Nutrition from New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Day also practices the Webster Technique, offering specialized care for prenatal and postpartum patients.

​

Known for her compassionate and honest approach, Dr. Day makes sure her patients feel heard and supported. When she’s not in the clinic, she can be found on the sidelines of rugby games treating athletes, spending time with her family, or enjoying the outdoors. She also loves traveling and sharing good food with friends, some would say she’s a bit of a foodie. Active in her community, Dr. Day is passionate about helping create the change she wishes to see in the world. She thrives on connecting with others and is known for spreading joy and laughter wherever she goes.

Sydney

Registered Massage Therapist â€‹

Sydney is a Registered Massage Therapist at Blue Haven Wellness, bringing her bubbly and contagious energy to every session. Since joining the Barrie community in April 2022, she’s been helping clients feel their best with a mix of expertise and warmth. A graduate with Honours from the Massage Therapy Program at Georgian College, Sydney has gained valuable experience in a variety of settings, including Palliative Care, Pregnancy, Sports, Long Term Care, and more.

​

What makes Sydney truly amazing is her creative mind for solving complex cases and her incredible eye for turning thrifted treasures into something beautiful. She’s always on the lookout for hidden gems and has a knack for giving old items new life, much like her approach to massage therapy, where she brings fresh perspectives and solutions to each client’s needs.

​

Her massage style blends Swedish flow with sustained pressure, tailored to your individual needs, whether it’s pain relief or pure relaxation. Some of Sydney’s most popular treatments include:

Ebony

Registered Massage Therapist â€‹

Ebony is a Registered Massage Therapist at Blue Haven Wellness, known for her calm, thoughtful approach and genuine passion for helping clients feel better in their bodies. A graduate with distinction from the Massage Therapy Program at Georgian College in 2023, she brings strong clinical training, a deep understanding of anatomy and neuroanatomy, and compassionate care into every treatment.

​

Ebony works with a wide range of concerns, including chronic pain syndromes, neurological conditions, injury rehabilitation, and stretch therapy. Her treatments are always personalized, with a focus on supporting functional recovery, improving mobility, and promoting long-term wellness in a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Her massage style blends relaxation with targeted therapeutic techniques, making her sessions both grounding and effective—whether you’re seeking pain relief, recovery, or a moment to fully unwind. Ebony’s goal is to listen carefully, treat with intention, and help you move and feel your best.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll often find Ebony cozied up with a good book, recharging so she can bring her best self to each session.

Cara

Registered Psychotherapist

​

Cara is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who believes in creating a safe, supportive space for individuals and families to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. With a patient centered approach, she works collaboratively with clients to navigate life’s challenges and support meaningful personal growth.

​

Her approach to therapy is grounded, compassionate, and collaborative. Cara works alongside each client to explore what’s going on beneath the surface while also offering practical, evidence-based tools that can be applied in everyday life. She believes therapy should feel both supportive and useful helping clients gain insight while also building real skills for change.​

 

She commonly supports individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Burnout and work-related stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Emotional regulation challenges

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship and communication difficulties

  • Boundary setting and people-pleasing patterns

Outside of her clinical work, Cara enjoys spending time in nature, practicing mindfulness, and embracing the balance of family life and personal growth.

Lyle

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

 

Lyle offers a supportive and down to earth approach to therapy, rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and care. He believes meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, seen, and understood, so he works to create a space where people can explore their experiences openly and build goals that feel aligned with who they are and how they want to live.

​

With a background in supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges, Lyle is especially passionate about helping clients navigate relationships, parenting, mental health, and addiction. His approach draws from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, as well as the principles of positive psychology.

​

Lyle has over 10 years of experience working with youth, adults, and families. He is a Registered Social Worker and holds a certificate as an Addictions Care Worker.

​

His areas of focus include:

   •    Family and relationship challenges
   •    Parenting support
   •    Video game and substance-related addictions
   •    Low mood, self esteem, and depression
   •    Anxiety
   •    Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Dr. Liz Dalglish

Naturopathic Doctor

 

Dr. Liz Dalglish, ND, is a naturopathic doctor with a clinical focus on women’s health, digestion, and cardiometabolic care. She believes that true wellness goes far beyond rushed appointments or quick online searches, helping her patients move beyond the “line of fine” toward feeling genuinely vibrant and well.

​

Passionate about supporting women to feel their best, Dr. Liz addresses issues such as bloating, constipation, stubborn belly fat, hormonal imbalances, and brain fog. By uncovering the root causes that influence metabolism, appetite, and energy, she empowers patients to make informed choices and feel strong, balanced, and fully engaged in life.

​

Dr. Liz practices evidence-based, integrative healthcare, blending the best of natural medicine with modern clinical insight. Known for her no nonsense, straightforward approach, she focuses on education, clarity, and practical solutions that get results.

She earned her Honours Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph (2012) and her Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (2019). Dr. Liz is licensed with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and is a professional member of the OAND and CAND.

Avery Vanderhorst

Registered Acupuncturist

 

Avery is a Registered Acupuncturist with a passion for holistic wellness, mental health, and women’s health. Practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine, her approach to care focuses on understanding the root cause of concerns while creating a space where patients feel heard, supported, and cared for.

​

With a background in Child & Youth Work and Yoga Instruction, Avery brings a calm, compassionate, and whole-body approach to treatment. Her experience working closely with individuals through different stages of life has deepened her understanding of the nervous system and the connection between physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

​

Avery believes no two patients are the same, which is why she takes the time to ask questions, listen closely, and tailor each treatment to the individual in front of her. Whether someone is seeking support with stress, sleep, digestion, hormonal health, or overall wellness, her goal is to help the body slow down, regulate, and heal through Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture care.

​

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Avery walking through the forest, curled up with a good book, spending time with her cat, or enjoying time with friends and community.

​

Favourite Muscle: The Scalenes — they’re sneaky and always seem to creep up on you.
Favourite Acupuncture Point: ST36 Zusanli — a powerhouse point that supports digestion, sleep, energy regulation, and helps us process emotions.

Simone Coulter

RN, BScN, IBCLC

 

Simone is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with nearly 10 years of experience and a Registered Nurse with over 20 years in healthcare. She brings a calm, knowledgeable, and deeply compassionate presence to every family she supports. Her hospital background includes working in both the Emergency Department and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), giving her a strong clinical foundation and a thoughtful, well-rounded approach to care.

​

Simone’s passion for lactation support is rooted in personal experience. After facing her own breastfeeding challenges, she became deeply committed to understanding infant feeding and supporting families through both the joys and the complexities of early parenthood. This lived experience allows her to connect with families in a genuine, empathetic way while focusing on practical, achievable solutions.

​

Throughout her career in NICU, postpartum care, and community settings, Simone has supported families with a wide range of feeding journeys—including preterm and late-preterm babies, singletons, and multiples. She values listening first, meeting families where they are, and working collaboratively to support their individual feeding goals.

Simone truly loves the connection that comes with this work and feels honored to be welcomed into such an important chapter of her clients’ lives. She looks forward to supporting you and your family with thoughtful, evidence-based care at Blue Haven Wellness.

Tori

Clinical Wellness Director ​

​

Tori is the glue that holds Blue Haven Wellness together and the friendly face that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. As our Clinical Wellness Director, she is the first and last face you’ll see when visiting the clinic. Without her, Blue Haven simply wouldn’t function the way it does!

​

Whether you need to book or reschedule an appointment, have questions about billing, or are calling in for the first time, Tori is your go to gal. She’s also the smiling voice behind the phone, ready to help with anything you need to make your experience seamless.

​

One of Tori’s favourite parts of her role is getting to celebrate all of our patients’ wins, big or small. She loves being part of your wellness journey and is always cheering you on.

​

When she’s not at the clinic, Tori loves being outdoors, going camping, and spending time with her dog, Dex. She also enjoys trying new restaurants with friends and is always up for a good meal and great conversation.
